This is another post in my favorite things series. I’m sharing things that I’m currently loving!

In my quest the last 3 years to switch out many of the products that I use to more natural options, I found the Bend Soap company. Their goat milk soaps are all-natural and use high quality ingredients. I love that I’m supporting a family business when making a purchase. I’ve used their bars of soap, milk bath, deodorant, and lotion, all great for sensitive skin. The bar soaps and deodorant are what I use most often. There’s something old-fashioned about using a bar of soap that I find enjoyable. I also like that they have gift baskets available for some creative gifting options. You can find all of their products at BendSoap.com.
Twelve South Laptop Case
I bought this Twelve South BookBook leather laptop case for my MacBook before leaving for my year abroad in Spain in 2014. It looked durable and I liked that it could sort of “hide” as a book. It did not disappoint and I continue to use it to this day. It’s kept my laptop safe in my backpack on many different trips. And I’ve gotten so many complements on it!
There are different sizes and styles so take close look at what you’re buying if you decide to order. They have some other fun accessories as well. The laptop case that I have can be found HERE on Amazon.
You can also check out the Twelve South website. They have a few styles currently on clearance!
The Fountain face cream
I’ve never used many face creams before and but decided to try this one called The Fountain – Baobab Anti-Aging Cream from Trim Healthy Naturals after seeing the positive reviews. It’s nice and refreshing with a light scent of rose petals. I’m very sensitive to scents and this one was not overwhelming for me. I feel safe with putting these natural ingredients on my face and it’s a soothing and healing moisturizer. Gotta see if I can keep those after 30 wrinkles at bay. 😉 I apply a light coat before bed most nights. If you use it sparingly it will last for quite a bit of time. It seems to sell out fast, so keep an eye on their social media for when it will be restocked.
Check out other Trim Healthy Natural skin care products HERE! I’ve used some of their lotions and the natural deodorant and would recommend them. They even have a magnesium infused lotion and creams for eczema. I also have their Aroma Therapy spray in my bathroom.
I’ve been enjoying some green smoothies as an easy way to get some nutrition. My old Ninja blender had seen way better days, so I decided it was finally time for an upgrade.
I decided to get a refurbished Blendtec blender because it’s a well known and trusted brand product for a lower price. So far I’m impressed with how well it’s blended things! I’m hoping it will last me for a long time.
Current favorite tunes
I listen to a lot of music, mainly on Spotify, so here are a couple of current favorites!
Peter Hollens – Legendary Folk Songs
I can’t stop listening to The Parting Glass, such amazing vocals (can someone teach me how to sing like the female on this track?!). Some of my other favorites are Loch Lomond, Shenandoah, Danny Boy and Amazing Grace.
You can find Peter on Spotify, iTunes, Youtube, etc. I recommend checking out some of his Youtube videos, they’re definitely entertaining. His wife is also a singer and they often do duets, which is so fun!
I love me some hymns. Probably because I grew up singing them almost every Sunday. This album has a nice collection of hymns mixed in with some praise & worship songs. My favorite tracks are Abide With Me and He’s Always Been Faithful. This version of Abide with Me is different but still beautiful and my church likes to sing it so it’s grown on me.
You can find Sara Groves’ music on Spotify, Youtube, etc.
Love + Relationships Podcast
I’ve followed Debra Fileta’s blog True Love Dates for about 3 years now. I’m continually impressed with the depth of Godly wisdom that she shares on the topics of healthy relationships, singleness, dating, marriage, and more. She’s a licensed professional counselor with years of experience.
Her podcast, LOVE + RELATIONSHIPS with Debra Fileta, is awesome and I highly recommend it! I’ve never been much of a podcast person, but these weekly episodes are so informative and easy to listen to. Often, I’ll catch up on the latest one while I’m working. I appreciate that Debra’s short episodes are extremely practical and are based on questions submitted from real people.
Also, fun fact, I was a guest for Episode 12 – The Ultimate Date. It was super fun (and nerve wracking) getting to chat with Debra on the topic of first dates. And yes, there was one question that I feel like I didn’t answer very well. It’s hard when you’re on the spot and being recorded, haha. So yes, in case you were wondering, I do try to get a feel for someone’s faith beliefs before or during a first date. 😉 If you listen to it, let me know what you think!
It’s really hard to pick a favorite episode, they are all so good. And warning, Episode 8 – When Life Doesn’t Go As Planned, might make you cry, I may be speaking from experience. 😛 I encourage you to give them a listen, they are for both single and married folks!
That’s it for what I’ve been loving lately in September and October! What about you?
