“I’m about to turn 30. There’s something about that age that seems to prompt a lot of thought about the past and the future, and especially being single.
Singleness isn’t easy, life isn’t easy for that matter. But I think we’d all admit that we’d like to grow in our current lives. Life is filled with lessons, and I’d like to share 9 that I’ve learned these past few years and hope that they can be an encouragement to you.”
I wrote these words almost exactly 1 year ago as a part of the TrueLoveDates.com series #TheSingleLife.
This year I’m about to turn 31, and guess what. I’m still single!
What I wrote last year still feels very relevant in my own life in addition to the lives of other singles around me.
About 3 years ago, I read a book called True Love Dates and it was incredibly helpful and encouraging!
It was written by Debra Fileta, a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in dating, marriage and relationship issues from a Christian perspective. And she definitely knows her stuff!
I’ve also enjoyed following her blog and was grateful to be given a chance to contribute an article to her awesome series on singleness last year.

I hope that these words can be an encouragement to you in your own walk!

Debra also just came out with a new book this year called Choosing Marriage written for singles and couples that looks amazing.
What about you? What lessons have you learned in your singleness?
